This might have been asked and answered a zillion times already.
My P900 has the following system info:
Phone: CXC162022 R3C006
Bluetooth: CXC12529 R5D
Organizer: XCX162021 R3A06
CDA: CDA162003/6 R3A05

Q1: If I update the phone now, what exactly changes do I get? I mean, is it worth upgrading?..

Q2: I have something like 2,500 contacts, quite a bit of software, and pictures (such as contacts, wallpapers and screensavers....). If I do a full backup, and THEN upgrade the phone to a newer firmware, will I be able to get my stuff back, without feedling with the phone for a couple of hours again. I mean, when I restore my backup to the upgraded phone, will it overwrite the new firmware, or will it not? In other words, when I do a full backup, do I backup the firmware as well?

Appreciate your thoughts.

I don't know about the changes but no, you don't backup the firmware, just the data (contacts, appointments, etc.) which you can restore back to the phone after you upgrade the firmware.

Sure its worth to upgrade. Especially of you have missed some updates.
There are always some bugs fixed.

But a simple rule is: If it works dont touch.
That means that if you find your phone working just fine and you are a happy person then dont update.
If you experiense any problems, like problem with bluetooth etc, then update.

As far as I know SE have not sent out any new features in their updates so I see them as bug-fixes to install when having problems.

yep, I've had problems with my P900, particularly with BT.
I noticed it works much worse that with my previous phone, P800. Basically, I did not have any problems with BT with the P800 - everything worked, the phone recognized voice commands, etc. The P900 loses the HBH earset every once in a while; sometimes it makes weird sounds, sometimes it doesn't recognize my voice commands...
I think I'll give the upgrade a try...
