"Slim" seems to be Panasonic's design genre for phones just announced at the CommunicAsia 2004 event in Singapore...

And the X200, taking on a candy bar design, takes first prize for being the thinnest phone out there! At just 12.9mm and weighing just 86 grams, it is equipped with both a 65,536-colour TFT LCD and integrated VGA camera! The X200 may just end up in places that no other phone could before...

Various finishings are also available - with two of these including brushed metal and a shiny plastic surfacing. Different colours in the two may be available when the phone is released into the market.

This dual-band handset also comes with SMS/MMS messaging, Java support, 16-chord polyphonics, CSD/GPRS data support, and infrared (IR) wireless data support. Panasonic hopes to have the X200 out into the market by Q4 (September-December) this year.

Panasonic announced the X200 back in June, and now its been launched into the market.

X200 is the slimmest of the both newcomers- only 12,9 mm (120 x 46 x 12,9) – which makes it the world’s thinnest mobile. X200 is equipped with a VGA camera and a 65k TFT screen.
