Note:
Samsung's third-generation "ladies only" phone seems to have taken on a somewhat large transformation in terms of its looks - shifting from being a squarish kind of phone to a more "capsule" form. But still, a clamshell it is... and quite a nice looking one too I must say!
The SGH-E500 is the first women-centric phone to offer an integrated VGA camera and dual 65,535-colour LCD displays, which is still quite a rarity in times where manufacturers are taking different form factors seriously, and at the same time trying to get them "right" for their users! Since Samsung was the first to pioneer the "dual LCD" concept, I suppose there isn't anything wrong with that...
An ambience of elegance is created by the use of a pearl-like finishing for the exterior surfaces, which is married with rhinestone decoration on the front clamshell cover and a uniquely designed keypad that goes along very well with the overall phone design.
Features supported by the E500 include a 64-chord polyphonic ringer, high-speed GPRS data access via the internal WAP 2.0 browser, basic set of organiser features (alarm, calculator and currency converter, calendar, to-do list, voice memo, world time), and an internal phonebook supporting up to 1,000 entries.
And as with all other "ladies only" models from Samsung, the E500 will come with biorhythm, fatness index and calorie counter functions that can be easily accessed through the phone's menus.
Samsung didn't provide a date as to when the E500 will become available. But it should be sometime before the end of the year.
