> problem with sending sms from a T310

well, i can't sms some of my friends. only on some numbers, the phone gives the "failed" message after tryin` to send the sms. the odd part is that i get billed for the messages i "didn't" send, and the person i sent them to doesn't receive them. they are saved in the Unsent folder and if i select "send" from the options menu, again it gives the "failed" message. but, if i choose "Edit & Send" then it sends the sms. i have noticed only 2 phone numbers that i can't sms directly. they are just like the others, so there is no question about network incompatibility. i said i can't send directly meaning that if i write the number instead of inserting it from the phonebook, it works.
the question is: do i need a firmware update? if so, can i flash the phone to another fw from a different sony ericsson model? (not that i want to, i'm just curious)

I don't know if you need a FirmWare update, but you can't flash a different model's onto one that it isn't.

Can you make an ordinary voice call to the intended recipient, using the number stored in and retreived from the phonebook?

@rdnymllnsktr: yeah, that's what i thought, but i saw a lot of ppl puting T310 fw on the T300 and T68i fw on the T68, just thought you know, maybe, if there is a possibility, i'd like to try it
@bico yes, i'm sure the numbers are exactly the same, that's why i'm so confused. and if i dial them, i have no problem, it qorks fine... so i'm still 'mesmerized'.

Look, it might be something else.It happened to me for 2 months b4 i found out what it was.
If some1 sms's me from my providers INTERNET page and uses his account ( the same with his cell number ) i can't see the diff'rence but when i try to reply, it fails.
If i go and edit the number i see that instead of +40740... which is his number, 740.. without the + and the 40 which is the country code. The network is unable to send the message. Try and edit the number or even write it again.

@701 it happened 2 me2 my friend was sending sms from the connex website. u couldn't reply because u had the "reply path on" option. it sends the reply via the sms centre from where the message originated, at least that's what i think.
anyway i took my T310 in the service shop today and they gave me a nokia 2100
as a replacement phone until they can figure out the problem and fix it.
