Hey guys,
Just started to use GPRS as its free on o2 for a while..... was using the default browser with no probs, and installed Opera. It wont seem to load any pages and just stays at 1kb when it loads, is there any settings i need? the browser says that im connected!
any help would be good as im new to the GPRS stuff

I get this problem sometimes too and I am usually able to solve it by doing one of the following things:
1.) Try to load a different web page, this usually works.
2.) Switch your phone into Flight Mode and then back again.
3.) If none of the above have worked, turn your phone on and off.

I have it sometimes, too. However, I either close the browser, or retry the site or another site. I think it has to do with the network, because sometimes it loads faster than other times and sometimes it just does not.

please excuse the scantiness of this soultion but it may help to put you on the correct track -- i had a few problems getting opera started even though the def browser worked fine - apparently opera is particular about a the WAP gataway and will not work with the same internet settings as the default browser - i remember finding the answer by searching a forum - sorry i cant be more thorough but i feel certain that your problem is in this dept.

bob is right.. ur on a wap gateway which wont work with Opera, period.
I know nothing about O2 but u need to be given full internet access on ur account, then u need the internet apn within internet settings.
I could tell you exactly how to set it up for voda, but havent a clue for o2... get searching on here, or give o2 another call. One way to put them on the right track is to tell them ur using it with a laptop, then they work out u need full inet.
searching here is prolly quicker tho

Heres what to do!
Phone o2, ask them to activate mobile internet on your sim and ask them for a new GPRS access point which will be something like mobile.o2.co.uk, all your other settings will stay the same.
Done.
