I have a couple of questions to ask those who are lucky enough to already own a K700:
1. Masseur, in his review, said:
Its also worth mentioning at this point that the standby screen show icons for missed call, text messages received
What does this look like, and under what circumstances are these icons clearly visible?
2. Is the sequence for inputting a text message any different to that presented in the K700 "Try The Phone" demo (http://www.sonyericsson.com/trythephone/K700/en/)?
After writing your text message and clicking Continue you are presented with a list of Send options - E-Mail, Phone Number and Phonebook Lookup. Bizarrely the default (i.e. what is selected initially) is E-Mail!!! How many people send emails from their phone more regularly than SMS via a Phonebook loopkup!?!?

this probably should have been posted in the
Sony Ericsson K700 discussion thread where you would also have found the image that caff just beat me to post

from a day or two back
they appear on the screensaver clock display, i.e. when the phone hasn't been used for a while
I haven't used "try the phone" for a while but the sequence is...
joystick left (write new)
joystick in (chooses text message rather than picture message)
enter your text then joystick in at which point you are presented with
enter email addr.
enter phone no.
phonebooklookup (this option is the default option)
and under that is a list of recently texted people making it quicker to retext them

Thanks guys! I'm pleased to see the default has changed to Phonebook!
As for the picture of the screensaver, it looks great. Much more useful than the barely-visible clock on my T610. The addition of icons is a huge improvement.
Sorry for adding a new topic. I read the K700 thread pretty much every day and try to keep on top of it, but I must have missed that post.

as this is the 4th or 5th time that has been asked in the last couple of days I think I will add something to the
Answers to the most common questions on Esato Forums (FAQ style)

Have any of you an idea how having this screensaver on affects battery consumption? I am assuming there was a good reason for SE disabling it by default! It would be mildly interesting to connect to the K700 via FMA and monitor the consumption when the screensaver is enabled and disabled. Of couurse, much of the power would be down to Bluetooth communitcaion, but you may be able to get an idea.
Has either of you tried FMA yet? If so is it fully functional (yet!)? FMA is perhaps the main reason I continue to buy SE phones. I would hate to lose the ability to send texts from my PC at work whilst keeping my phone in my jacket pocket!

@bloomp, I agree, thats why I tried to put as much info like that (and camera shortcuts etc) as I could into my review
but I will add that detail to the faq when I get time
