Hi, I recently got a P900 after having a 6600 (good step in the right direction). Whenever I try to update my firmware, I lose all my phone's contacts, and I resort to restoring my P900 to a backup. Can someone let me know how to avoid losing them when updating? I just want my phone to be bang up to date!!!

Anyway, Im probably bein really stoooopid....but help me plz!!!!!

welcome to Esato

you cannot avoid losing the phone contents during the firmware update. Backing up and restoring is part of the overall update procedure

sync your contacts with your pc, then update firmware and re-sync again with your phone.

How many times have you updated your firmware considering you've only got it recently? It's not like SE releases a new version every week.

@mswallis, syncing before and after the update will only save and restore the contacts.

It will not save any of your settings, or applications or other data. you should definitly do a backup before and restore after the update
