I have just purchased a SE T230 in Mumbai, India and I find that there is no MADE IN ___ label on the backside of the phone. However the Battery says "Made in South Korea Finished in China". On the box the name of the manufacturer has been specified as Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication AB NYA Vattentornet 22188 Sweden. I have read somewhere on easto forum that you can find out the year and month of manufacture from the code on the back side of the phone and sure enough I found 04W16 written (16th Week 2004). Now I need to find out where exactly it has been manufactured. I have read somewhere that this can be found out from the DPY number. Mine is DPY 101 2669/16 R2B EN. Can somebody please tell me what is 2669/16 and where has my phone been manufactured.

In the good old /// times the 7. and 8. nr in the imei showed the country. 51 and 61 was sweden, 45 china, 71 malaysia, as i noticed it. However i saw t68i with 51 and that was made in china. This message was posted from a T630

I think it would not be appropriate for me to post my IMEI number here since it could be misused. But I found a good site "www.numberingplans.com" where I enetered my IMEI number and it says Country of Handset Approval "Finland". Does that mean its made in Finland. Also it shows Reference=KR. Is it Korea?????

hm. may be some some aparts of it was made in finnland. i saw on several nokias: made by nokia. think, now a days almost every fones are made in asia, howver the p8, p9 and z6 was made ( donnow how much, but all i saw had the same label ) made in france.
