I haven't got a way of transferring files from my K700i to my PC (and vice versa) yet. I want to upload some themes and .mp3 files to my K700i, so I thought that it would be a good idea to see if I could host some files and then access them through GPRS on my K700i.

How would I do this?

just set up an account on a site that allows mp3/.thm files, like 250free.com, then type in the address in your phone , i.e Memzee.250free.com/song.mp3 then it will download it straight to your phone.

serach for mime-types. I think you will probably need to configure your own webspace so it recogonises .thm file types (and others)

Thanks but that doesn't help me very much as I've never built a website or anything before. All I want to be able to do is download a .thm and .mp3 file to my K700 from my PC.

i can download fine from here, so the file is ok, also 250free should already have the mime types set up. As they don't allow htaccess files, so after discussion with the head of the site, he set them up, so should be available for all users.

For the MIME types copy and paste this in notepad:
Quote:AddType application/vnd.wap.wmlc wmlc
AddType application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc wmlscriptc
AddType application/java-archive jar
AddType application/vnd.mophun.application mpn
AddType application/vnd.mophun.certificate mpc
AddType application/vnd.eri.thm .thm
AddType audio/imelody .imy
AddType image/vnd.wap.wbmp .wbmp
AddType image/vnd.wap.wbmp wbmp
AddType text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor jad
AddType text/x-vCalendar .cal
AddType text/x-vCard .vcf
AddType text/x-vNote .vnt
AddType text/x-vmel .mel
AddType text/vnd.wap.wml wml
AddType text/vnd.wap.wmlscript wmls

save it as htaccess.txt and transfer it to your server, once uploaded rename it to .htaccess and you are done. If the host accepts .htaccess files then it should work now.

I think it should be on the FAQ as this question comes often back
