I get this prompt "not enough memory" at times when sending sms.
Both internal and external storage have available space though.
I always delete from my sent items to avail of free space and still (at times) i get prompted with this...
thanks for takin time to look at this thread.

Have you checked to see if any texts are saved on the sim memory?

This is a problem i had with my P800. It's easily (temporarily) fixed by turning the phone off and on again. I couldn't quite figure out why it did it though.

MixiN is correct, i used to get that problem and the only thing i could do is make sure the message is saved in the draft section then power down and back up again. sometimes i would get a TOD during the middle of writing an sms and the annoying thing was that the whole sms would be lost but that also does not happen too often.

guess you're right BAZ and MIXIN. The only cure is to reboot the phone. That's the least i can do. I'd do an update if i figure out a way to avoid this.
thanks for helpin guys!
Very much appreciated!

Hello everyone,
I think I've encountered this problem before and one thing that I noticed is that this sometimes happen when the address book/contacts is not running in the background when an SMS is created/sent. Before I resorted to shutting down the phone but then I did a little experiment and so far, I haven't encountered this problem since I started leaving the contacts running in the background. (I've been very fond of flushing the apps using SMan).
Besides, the contacts and messages apps are always started automatically when you power up the phone anyway, so might as well let them be.

I also don't think that leaving these two apps running is bad for your battery life.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Rene

What firmware version are you using? I'm on R2F and still encountered the problem (though not frequently) when I don't have the Contacts running in the background.

My P800 had this problem even with newest f/w. The solution is indeed to ensure u leave contacts running in the background & the problem will never occur. I don't know why it happens but this is the answer.
I used to have contacts running in the 'snapshot' of SMan so it didn't get closed when flushing tasks.
Thankfully the problem doesn't occur in the P9!
