Hi there, I was wondering If I could still recieve a connection to my comp via bluetooth if I am in the next room (solid concrete wall in between) The range of the bluetooth dongle I have is 30m (at best) But I would be less than 5 or 6m away.... Will the wall ruin my living-room toll-free browsing or not ... ?
Thanks

didnt know it was even possible to go more than 10 metres cos even though your dongle myt be capable of doing 30 metres...both devices have to be able to work at that range and the P900 doesnt.
apart from that however, ive tried roughly 5 metres through a concrete wall using bluetooth and it has worked fine for me...oh and the thickness of the wall would obviously be a factor

Depends on the density of the wall.
Normal walls Bluetooth will easily pass through, unless the wall is lead lined to block radio signals (such as in the building i work in).

nah its about 8 inches of standard concrete... I drilled through it
Infact I could always just buy a cheap USB extension cable and put that through the livingroom heh.... hopefully wont have to tho...
Im gonna try and see if i can get a connection with my other phone.

When i had my P900 i could easily surf the net through 2 brick walls with cavity insultation and one floor/ceiling. Its only dense objects that kill the signal, such as concrete pillars, metal structures and things like cars !

actually it is like that.. the BLuetooth system depends on the density.. but wt is denstiy.. it is Mass/Volume.. and first u have the measure the Length and width and Thickness of the wall.. THat will give u the volume.. than Break a piece of concrete off the wall and measure it mass and its volume.. If its irregular shaped.. then put it inside a beaker containing Some liquid and subtract Initial reading from final reading.. THen by ratio method calculate the MAss of the wall as u have volume of wall then Calculate the density of the wall if it is more then 10kg/cm cube.. then ur bluetooth wud work .. am ready anytime to help guys

Well I can get 30kB a second from my A835 in the other room doing a file transfer, so it should be ok....
I dont know if maybe the A835 has a better/worse range than the P900 BT though....

I have an old cottage. the walls are too thick. the dongle is a 150m one but the p900 wont talk in the next room.
