It seems that my phone or operator have some problems swapping from 3G to 2G. SE says it depends on the mobile-station, but I'm not sure yet.
On some places I get no coverage from my operator, but I really know that there is at least 2G coverage (with another phone/SIM-card). It seems that the phone not changing correctly from 3G to 2G
Someone else noticed this problem?

In my opinion, se is right... nothing to do with the phone... I have a Nec e313, same problem... often when switching mode, apparently theres no coverage..

Have the same problem, atleast in my home... When 3G doesnt work, it sometimes just says "SOS only" which I know is wrong, I have full reception from my 2G provider in my apartment. Seems like the phone sometimes gets a bit confused when switching...

I have read that the service provider 3 in Sweden is aware of this problem, but it takes massive amounts of money to fix it, wich they wont spend in this stage.

I am NOT a 3 customer... I´m not that stupid (3 is pretty hated in Sweden, only defended by some "halleluja-subscribers"), just stupid enough to get at 3g phone too early =)). So thats not the problem, the problem is just that sometimes it will take some time for the phone to switch between networks. I think this is a phone bug...

I noticed this problem only at one place... At my work. So I think it depends on the station.
Im not using 3, I'm using Comviq...
