Hi folks,

I have done a search but cannot find the answer.

Is it possible to set up the p900 so that particular file types are stored and held on MS automatically ?
e.g. BT transmitted files go straight to a folder on MS
sound recorded files go straight to a folder on MS
photos go straight to a.... etc etc

cheers

these have been asked quite a few times, (the BT one just a couple of days ago) but I'll put an answer here

the general rule is that you can automatically save things to the memory stick if you have a drop down folder list on the top right hand part of the application screen where you can select the external unfiled folder

from that you can see that pictures and video provide this capability but the sound recorder and beamed folder do not

having said that there seems to be a bug in the latest firmware which makes the folder in the video application revert to internal when you restart the phone

thanks masseur. That wasn't quite what I was asking but its obviously down to me not explaining myself.

you are suggesting that some applications allow you to put files of a type in the unfiled folder on the MS. That means various file types all end up in the same place and its down to manually placing them where you want afterwards.

I wanted to know if it was possible to tell the p900 that any file of file type picture (for example) should always be stored in the ms folder called /pictures (example) and any application that subsequently accesses/uses/creates a picture automatically goes to that specific named folder on the ms to find them. Then if you got a picture beamed to the phone it would go in the /pictures folder on ms automatically wheras if you go a text file beamed to you it would go to /text folder on ms etc etc.

I guess the answer is no....
cheers
