Hey guyz, herez how i do it...
I use Winamp 2.79. I set the equalizer setting to my preference. and then i raise the preamp (the first slider on the equalizer) to the required level- dont raise to too hi, the music will blare!!! experiment and find the right level. set the output plug-in to disk writer and choose the output as PCM wave. play the song. now re-encode the .wav file to MP3.
this might appear to be a long process, but the benefits are tht it is free completly, and you can adjust the 10 band equalizer to customize the music!

Check the software that came with your sound card - I found a wave editor that can 'record what you hear' and saves as mp3!
