Hi,

I know this has been discussed many times, but after following links to old posts (most of which seem to refer to the now non-working Unbrander 1.2) is there any way for me to unbrand and flash my P900 O2 branded (162004/7 CDA)?

I'm sorry that this has been requested so many times, i just find myself traipsing through old out-of-date topics that all say the same thing. I just want a definite answer, is it possible - Yes or No?

Many thanks!

J

Yes take itto a service centre and tell them you want it flashed with the new firmware since you are having troubles with it. Hope this helps

What branding do O2 put on the P900 I am on Vodafone and the only bit of Corporate shit I have found so far is a Boot up logo and the internet home page being set to Vodafone Live (without a doubt the worst designed, rip off ridden, slow loading, crappiest portal on the web) this was one of my first changes made to my phone on day one!

I will no doubt get round to finding out how to remove the logo shit unless they have embedded it in the ROM, but that should be cleared with a firmware reflash at my local SE service centre.

On 02 phones you have their start up and shut down videos. No branding on the phone (hardware) though. Yes you can remove it by reflashing the phone at a service centre

The carphone warehouse will not flash p900 anymore, they will flash to your latest branded firmware... I dont know why they dont anymore and anyway the online update now checks EMEI numbers so you would be back to square 1!!

But you can change your IMEI using a terminator dongle, no?

Do what i did today.....

Phone the SE service centre hotline : 08705237237

Tell them the phone's goosed - you've tried online recovery etc...

They'll send you to a SE repair centre - who flashed my Orange Branded P900 to a totally unbranded one for free!!! Sorted.

CDA162003/2 for me now From CDA162004/3

With the R5A07

Nice one.

Trouble is, not everyone lives close to a SE service centre...

I'm certintly not going to send my phone through the post... its the only way ppl can contact me.

Shame there isn't software to remove the branding crap..
