Im having problems with my sms inbox, I dont seem to be recieving messages untill I switch my phone off and then back on again. I can leave my phone on for hours and not recieve a text message. It neither playes my sms alert nor shows the display notification (which I have checked is enabled) It doesnt even show the the message in the inbox until switch my phone off and back on again, even then it doesnt show the icon on the main screen to say i have an unread message. I have to physically go into my inbox to check for new messages.
This has only just started to happen within the last few days after 12 months of it working perfectly and I havent done anything out of the ordinary, so I cant understand it.
My first thought was to reset the phone and back it up with my last sync (which unfortunatly was a long time ago.... my own fault i know) If I was to back up the phone now before resetting then copy all the info back, surely if there is a bug with the phone it would re-load that bug, basically it's a catch 22 situation.
I apologise if this has been covered before, but I've searched the forum for anyone who may have this problem and cant find any information anyone have any ideas whats wrong or how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Let me have a shot in the dark I rember reading people have to switch the phone off an on again to receive the messages after coming back for another country but that must happen only once.
My suggestion will be to check the GSM Networks in the control panel and see whether the 'search mode' is still set to 'automatic'. Also in control panel> messaging accouts SMS tab conection type is it set on GSM preffered?
This might not solve the problem but it's always worth a try. Let us know how did this go

anish, tried it no luck, thanks for the help though.
I've eliminated it being a network problem because I've used other peoples sim cards and it still does the same thing, so its something deffinatly with the phone, I cant see how it was working fine now this starts.
Please help, it is annoying

Did you install any applications before this started to happen? Like SMS manager or something like that? Other wise I think the only other option is master reset. Any way wait someone might come up with a solution
