For some unknown reason, whenever I visit Google.com at http://www.google.com the interface defaults to Traditional Chinese.

I have to manually click "Singapore Google" to go to http://www.google.com.sg for the English version.

Is there some way to set English as the default language for Google?

Seems google checks IP address. Showing of index page is based on your local IP or proxy it detects. This message was posted from a R520

a friend of mine recently did this to me too (as a joke)

here's how i managed to rectify it:
when at the google main page,
click on preferences... thats the middle link to the right of the area where you type your search keywords
from the drop-down box... choose something which isn't all greek to you
(personally i chose xxxxxx (Elmer Fudd))
click on the button you see at the top right of the page
click again on the preferences link
(in this case... thts "Pwefewences" )
choose english (engwish) from the drop-down menu
click on the "Save Pwefewences" button
DONE!

I'm having that dilemma as well .. . seeing words/phrases in my native lingo (Tagalog/Philippines) - good thing that I can manage understanding it, but as before, I still prefer the English language!
