I have looked at quite a few posts asking how to set up a t68 as a dial up modem over IR but none of them explain how to get it to work. I have windows XP and it does see the phone as a modem. I have created a new dial up networking account and set it to use the phone as the modem. When I go to dial the phone shows it is dialing the number, but it doesn't connect. It says: The remote computer did not respond.

BTW, I have it working fine with the GPRS connection, but that is too expensive to use. I used my 1mb (and more) in less than 10 minutes.

Thanks,
Eric

I would like to know as well, I can see that the PC recognises the T68 as a modem, but I can't choose it. I also, always get an error when install the program.

Anyone help?

If you would like to use GSM data with t68 then setup a generic standard 19,2 kb/s modem into the IR port (under winXP, under w2k you cannot able to setup a modem into IR port, in that system you get a default IR modem, which works with t68 too). Change the maximum speed to 57,6 kb/s in the modem properties. Setup name, B number, etc. If you would like to data call dial (faster connection) then use the init string In the modem properties) at+cbst=71,0,1
Thats all. If everything is ok in the system then it must to work correctly. The main error in setup, when you use encripted psw over the autentication procedure. Most ISP use normal password for the authentication!!!

I can't choose my T68 as the MODEM to use for Dial Up, how do I make XP HOME use the T68 to dial instead of the normal modem?

Well, that isn't the problem I'm having... but I'll help. Open the dial up connection, click properties. If you have more than one modem (the standard modem and the T68) there should be a list of modems to use. Put a check in the box for the T68, and uncheck the other.

I can get that to work fine, but it wont connect. It dials, but windows says the remote computer did not respond.
