I don't know what happened, but ever since I checked (for the first time since I had my P900) my email by the phone, the green network reception led stays ON all the time, even when it's not plugged in on the charger. The bluetooth led will still blink as usual and stay on all the time if plugged in the charger.
If switched it off for a while, fully charged it, took out battery, went into flight mode, even ran the service tests, but no luck, the darn led stays on all the time unless you switch off the phone, and will turn on asa you turn on the phone (when asking pin it's already permanently on)! The phone has also changed its behaviour: it all works fine except one thing, I can no longer connect using the USB cradle. With a serial data cable I can still sync, but with the USB the status will remain 'connecting' eternally. Any ideas what this could be?
I wanted to flash from R4A to R4B but if it cannot connect to the cradle

wow! i want my p800 to do that!

only joking - best thing to do is take it to the shop and see what they say. you have your warranty - dont try and work it out by yourself. ring

if you need to!
VQ
[EDIT]: There have been a few bugs in the earlier versions of the p900 - just take it back. maybe whenever you check your email the light stays on? have you turned your email off? or tried the control panel settings?

I've tried basically everything I could:
turn on/off
enable/disable bluetooth (might refresh led status)
flight mode on/off
went on GPRS & surfed & disconnected again
made a few calls
entered service menu, but unlike the T68 there is no led test
charger connected/disconnected
master reset
and the damn green led still remains ON all the time!
I could reconnect, but only if first I use bluetooth to connect, then I switch from bluetooth to USB and it will work most of the time. But trying to do a backup resulted in the middle of the backup NOT CONNECTED, so it lost connection and was again in the eternal "Connecting" state. So I reinstalled the suite, now the connection remained stable and I was able to reflash from R4A to R4B. Result:

still on!
It will say "Not connected" while being in the cradle, but asa you REMOVE the P900, the status will go into "Connecting" and that's it, no matter what you do it will remain like that until you untick the USB box in the Connection Properties.
[EDIT] FOUND A TRICK TO MAKE USB WORK!
Go to cable connection, select modem (was on PC connect), click Done, now go back to Cable connection and reselect PC Connect + Done & Presto! Works immediately. BUT asa you switch off & on again, it seems to default to modem mode again, thus backup/restore becomes impossible (it fails all the time now).

AARGH So something is screwed up here!
I remember now since yesterday I did something not that catholic.
The phone was connected with the serial data cable including the power plug on the connector, and I switched off the device while being connected to WinXP (since my XP serial ports were changed and I was troubleshooting the new connections). The mRouter.exe instantly crashed and I think since then the LED remains on, not 100% sure but that's the only occasion I can think of (because the led was on due to the charger connected). The phone did reconnect without a problem after this mRouter crash (rebooting XP of course).

brought it to SE service center: they took it back and sent it to their tech department, since they say there is no fault detection that would turn on the green led.
result: 1 day later they already called me back, they gave me a brand new P900, the old one had or a corruption of the communication software or the socket must have suffered a spike blowing up something inside the ROM, making it impossible to repair the phone.
I'd should be happy with a spanking new P900, but with a new IMEI number my Desktopmessage & RemoteP900 software don't work anymore (license checks IMEI)... I have written to mobileways to see if they can provide me with a new SIS file (I included a scan of the SE document stating my phone with old IMEI was replace by a new with new IMEI) I hope that will be enough as proof!

Dude, this EXACT problem happened with mine recently, the greed led stayed on and i couldnt connect via usb. Oddly however, one day it just started working again of its own accord....!??
My theory is that its something to do with the circuitry which operates the handsfree function..... My problem started when i was using an adaptor to connect my regular headphones to my p900. Now since my headphones dont have a microphone attachment, i think my phone got a bit confused; it couldnt decide whether it was in handsfree mode or not, even when there was nothing plugged into the audio socket. It was the same time that the led and connectivity problems arose also. I think it started working again because i havent used a non-compatible handsfree for a long time, which would presumably allow any residual charges in the driver circuitry to dissipate....
