I have a couple of questions about the P900, as I'm consdiering UGing from the P800.
1) Does the still camera operate reliably in flip closed mode?
I know in theory the P800 does this, but mine frequently doesn't actually take the photo when in flip closed mode, despite making the shutter sound & the image freezing on the screen....often I'll go to find the image & it doesn't exist. I knwo a couple of other people who've had this problem & it's VERY frustrating after quickly snapping an amusing moment to find you didn't in fact snap anything at all!
2) Does the video recoding software work in flip closed mode? And if so - how?
Can you open the app & start/stop recording using a button, or does the flip have to be open? Again with the Philips (Booooo!) Camcoder on my P800 the flip has to be open & you have to mess around removing the stylus and pressing the screen to start recoding video - agani not ideal if you want to do something quickly!
Also - is it possible to program keymapper to launch, then start/stop recording with the video software on P900? (I've got it opening the camcoder on P800, but not start/stop recording.
If anyone could shed any light on these points I'd appreciate it greatly!

I think you should ask....."what can the P900 do that the P800 cant?" Then if you fall into the bracket where you need those things then buy it, otherwise dont waste your money and jump on the P1000 when it comes out! it should come out in sept-dec 2004

Thanks for the replies!
@P800_Zen_master
If it's a reality that the P1000 (or whatever it's called) will be out Sep-Dec 2004 then I can definitely wait that long!

Dont quote me on that date. but if you follow the cycle of when the lat two cam out, then it should come out around then, however the p800 was very late but I think SE have learnt there lesson
