Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum here. I have been wanting to purchase a P900 for quite a while and now I finally have saved up enough money to purchase one. However, I am wondering whether it is worth my money to get it now since it's been out in the market for quite some time. Another reason why I am indecisive about this phone is that I want to have a WIFI support PDA phone and I know what P900 doesn't have it. GPRS cost quite a bit if I want to surf the net all the time using cellphone. (My school allows students to use WIFI for FREE ^^)
I have heard rumor about the next Pxxx might be WIFI built-in. That is one of the reason that keep me from buying the P900 right away.
Can you guys help me out? Is it better to buy the P900 now or wait for the rumor?(Even though we don't know whether it is even existed or not) Thanks everyone.

I'd probably wait a while longer. Except if you are in a hurry ar you can get it really cheap.

@koolcoolguy - Welcome to esato ! There are quite some factors to consider here re: your thoughts on buying the SE P900. The money you saved perhaps can already buy you one, now if you are considering of buying the successor of the P900 I'm sure that the price will hit the ceiling or beyond - when newly released in the market! Are you sticking your choices here to just an SE brand? If not why not contemplating on the Nokia 9500 Communicator mate - just a suggestion, I'm quite sure that it has the WiFi feature that you are certainly looking for. Tah (liban) !

@jojo51069
Thank you for your reply. I have been looking around the market for a PDA phone for a while but I have to say that the SE P900 is the only one that does it for me. I am quite a visual person when it comes to cellphones.(Currently I am using a Samsung E715. In my opinion, nice looking phone but DAMN limited functions!!) So you can see, I choose looks over functions when it comes to cellphones. However, I am becoming quite busy lately that's why I need a PDA to keep my schedule up. I also hate bringing so many things when I go out that's why I think the SE P900 would be a great fit for me.(instead of bringing a PDA and a phone, all I need to do now is bring a PDA phone haha ^^) I also think that the Nokia 9500 is too big for me WIFI is not a big thing for me but I just think that it's good to have it. I mean even if my phone is WIFI Built-in, I still will need to subscribe to it in order for it to work right? Just like the GPRS. There is no place where I can use WIFI for free.(except at my university, but we still have to paid a fee in our tuition i think)
When you say that the Pxxx's price will be skyrocket, how high are we talking? Are we talking about when P900 first was introduced? Or Higher than that?
What do you think it's the best thing for me to do?

@koolcoolguy - Yup! The Nokia 9500's only setback is it's bulkiness. But it will still be the best fone for me to date mate. About the SE P900 price, here in Manila when that model was 1st introduced it hit as high as Php 44K here or roughly around US$ 820.00. Now, I am very certain that the SE P1000 (?) will also have the same market introductory price, depending on it's specs, I've seen some threads here where it made some reviews about SE P9's successor. About your choice, no matter what you've heard and seen posts with various personal opinions/replies, the final analysis/decision will still be up to you-mate . . . Though personally speaking, the SE P9 is a nice fone to have, even though I don't have one. Fones with high price sure hell is a thing to/must have ! But if you'll ask me, since you seem to have a spare fone . . . better wait for the SE P9's successor. By the way, the SE K700i is a nice fone as well, though I don't think it has a PDA function mate . . . .

You could wait forever for the next best thing to come along and as soon as it does you'll be waiting for the one after that....

If you like it get it.

I think the P900 is a top phone, I had the P800 before and Nokia 8910i.

I now use a P900 and a Xda2. Of the two smartphones the Xda is far superior, PPC2003 functionality blows away the P900. However it is bigger. As a phone the P900 is better but a compromised PDA.

look at the changes between the p800 and the p900, although they do make a bit of a difference, there wasnt a LEAP between them, infact some still prefer the p800 (although that could just be denial )

I say get the p900 now, you should be able to get it free on contract.

Yeah I see that the P900 and the P800 doesn't have a lot of Major Difference. That is also one of the reason I haven't bought P900. I was hoping the upcoming Pxxx will have better spec.

Sadly, I live in Vancouver, Canada. No one has free contract on the P900 here.
