I came to the end of my orange contract in may - went through to the dissconections department and told them vodafne could offer the same package but give me the p900 for free, i told them i didnt want to leave orange because i was happy with the service so if they could offer me the same deal i would stay with orange...... they told me they would would do it. but you have to make sure you go through to dissconections and not the stupid customer service line because they are useless???
good luck........

I came to the end of my contract with Vodafone and was paying £75 per month on Anytime 1000, plus I had an £18 data package.
I cancelled my contract as they wanted £209 for a P900, but then asked to be put through to their LIFE CYCLE Dept that I had heard about who are the people that fone you after you cancel to harass you etc.
I ended up paying £50 for the Phone (coulndn't get it cheaper elsewhere) but they cut my line rental to £37.50 for the same package plus free insurance for 12mths plus a £25 (gives £60 worth of data services) data package for £18! I ripped their hands off!
Even better, after 6 days the zero button ceased to function. Vodafone offered me a swap out as it was inside 14 days, but as well as getting the courier to exchange new for old P900's on my doorstep yesterday, he delivered another P900 in a seperate bag. The orders were placed a minute apart according to the documentation, but I have checked with Vodafone and they haven't got a clue - they don't even have a record of sending me a replacement let alone two.
I am gonna wait a while, surely they will catch up soon?

Hey i thought i was the only lucky one!
I previously(before christmas) was coming to the end of my contract on voda anytime 200 plus 50 txts. Yep thats all i had at the time cause that was a GX10.. Although i used it to call abroard alot. When i asked what phone i could expect on an uprgade they told me most of their stock i could upgrade to for free.. It ended up costing me £50 to upgrade to a P900 which i was well pleased about. But the phone didn`t arrive when they told me so i called cust.care and they appologised and said they will send it asap next day delivery ect.
I then recieved a P900 on Christmas eve and another on January 4th as they had made a mix up.
I held on to the phone for a few months then went on to sell it on Ebay for a splendid amount HA HA HA!!!
Vodafone none the wiser and i was laughing.

Hey Xbox...
Haven't you asked about this (or more or less the same subject) in another
thread?
Just give Orange a call and tell them you want your PAC code then see what happens - you don't have to leave if they don't offer you anything...

They won't start to end your contract until they receive the request from another provider along with your PAC code.
To be honest, if you tell them you want the phone for free because another provider has offered you this and they say no and they still refuse after you've asked for your PAC code then get out of there and go to another provider. I've been with vodafone for about 6 or 7 years now and only paid for my first phone, my P800 I got for free and yesterday I arranged for them to send me my P900, also for free, even though there’s still a month left on the old contract. Remember that there are many providers and there’s basically a price war. Mobile phone providers make huge amounts of money out of each customer (I read somewhere that last year O2 made an average of £500 per customer per year – and they’ve got A LOT of customers). If your provider wants to keep you then they’ll give you the phone. If they’re not interested then leave. Oh, and the tariff I’m on is only the Anytime 100, and for the 6 months prior to June I’ve been on the anytime 30 package so that shouldn’t be an issue at all.
Remember – you’re the customer, you’re doing THEM a favour by getting your phone and staying with them – not the other way round!
