What is the difference between an Orange branded k700 and a non branded one. Apart from the Orange logo.

Orange firmware.
Each operator adds their own modified firmware, meaning you have to go to the operator to get the firmware updated, or get the phone flashed with original SE firmware to remove all branding.
On some phones, Orange dont even allow the firmware to be updated, so if you have old firmware on some Orange phones, you're stuck with it unless you pay a third party to remove it for you.

I've got a vodafone branded K700i, and you can't use the mp3's as ringtones, its so annoying! Apparently the feature has been excluded because they think if you have mp3's as ringtones you won't ever buy anything from vodafone live! The stupid thing is that they don't even sell mp3 ringtones on vodafone live, so that doesn't even make sense! Can you use mp3's as ringtones on the orange version? Or is it only available on the original software version?

Got my K700i on Thursday, also on Vodaphone, but I can set MP3`s as ringtones.
Great phone, so far no problems apart from the battery life, but then I have been playing with it quite a lot, will get a true idea of life when I use the phone for normal calls and texting.

How difficult is it to get the manufacturers firmware removed by a third party. It's very easy to have a phone "unlocked" but does this remove this firmware?
