I have an original t68i, which i bought in sweden and was wondering what differences i will see with getting the firmware updated from r2a014 to r8a (or whatever is the current version). Wil it help reception at all?

Last question. The slider on the side is broken. is there any way to increase the sound w/o it or am i stuck at the default level?

there are a lot of bug fixes from r2a to r8a. also menu/sms speed is much faster.

for volume control, i believe you can also push joystick up/down during a call. just give it a shot.
