> SMan shuts off
Bookmark topic
Hi all! Thisz about SMan... I've set it to auto start and run all the time. i've also set it to ignore harakiri, but i've noticed several times that SMan is shut off, esp when i have several (5-6) progs running. when i want to close the running apps, i push the internet key (i've assigned the internet button as the shortcut key), and instead of SMan the built-in browser comes up. Am running v1.2c of SMan. has any1 else noticed this, and is there anything i can do to fix this behaviour?

I find that this happens whenever I use Opera; it doesn't happen right away, but if I spend a few minutes using Opera SMan is usually closed down through lack of memory.

Opera uses a lot of memory, but with the 'Ignore Harikiri' option enabled I would have assumed that Opera would be the one to shut down, not SMan.

Ignore Harikari is for SMan not for other apps so it's an attempt to try and stay open even if another application tells it to close.
But I think (I'm guessing) that the operating system itself will close down applications if needed to free up some memory if needed. After all it doesn't come with a task manager so it has to do something.
But as I also understand it, if SMan ran as a "System" apps then it wouldn't be killed at least nothing I have running as a System app ever seems to die

What I meant was that SMan should stay open at the expense of other applications because of the 'Ignore Harikiri' feature.

The 'ignore harakiri' function only works on the p800. Sman will be killed by the OS on a p900 when running memory becomes limited. The problem has been addressed and fixed in version 1.3

Does that mean there's version 1.3 available already?
