Hello,
I am going to Hong Kong next month and was originally planning on purchasing an SE K700 and bringing back to America (assuming that It'll work here). I am planning on spending somewhere between $400-$450 USD. My concern is that I heard the new SE S700 will be out in September (I'll be back in America by then) but it'll cost ~$500 USD. I called up cingular and they have no idea when the phones will be out in America and expect somewhere around a year and a half from when they come out.
So do you think the S700 will be out that early (if it comes out in year , I wouldn’t mind buying it then. But to buy a new phone after just a few weeks or months of using one seems unnecessary) and cost that much ( I thought it would be a lot more). Also, do you think that the swivel design of the S700 will fall apart.
And Lastly: Which phone should I buy if I want a new phone?

You can get the K700 locally here in the states for less than $500USD. You could get it even before you leave for overseas.
Though there is speculation that the S700 might come out earlier than expected, I'll most likely wait til the beginning of 05 to purchase one. I still have my K700 to tie me over, plus the price of the S700 will be lower by the time 05 rolls around. The price of the K700 has dropped almost instantaneously just over a period of a month.
As for the swivel design of the S700... I'm hoping that it'll have that same reassuring "click" that the Z600 had when opened/closed.

And I expect that price to drop by the time I go there in a month. My concern is that I cannot find local store, in Los Angeles, that sells the phone and I am looking for a reputable dealer as to not be scammed online.
Oh, by the way, I went on the Cingular website and saw that they just relased the SE T630 (T637 in the US) for $149.99 USD with 2yr contract or $249.99 USD without a contract. The phone came out in January in Europe but it comes out just before July in America!?
