I get no problem switching duos. Certain files saved on Duo (A) for example, naturally when switched into Duo (B) will not be recognized by the phone's internal memory.
What specific files were lost?

I switch memory sticks several times a day without ever losing anything and this is the way it is designed to work

No specific files, I got this incident with my P800 when I used to switch DUO's and then some files (MP4's, pictures, sounds, etc) are lost! Some of the apps stoppped functioning properly too! I got it several times (not consequently but the VERY SAME thing happened later! )

try reformatting your duo. (Be sure to make a back-up) this may solve unwanted loss of files.

the Px00's memory is hot swappable and data is not lost when switching memory sticks... I do this all the time without loss of data.

Indeed, all Memory Stick flavors are most definitely hot-swappable. I constantly swap mine between my phone, handycam, computer, without ever turning them off, without any file loss whatsoever.
And this is how they're designed to be.

I've experienced something similar to this.
Generally the memory sticks are hot-swappable, and I certainly use my MS this way. But there have been on several occasions where after I swap the memory sticks, the phone does not detect the change in data immediately. If I put the new MS before the phone does so, it seems to automatically assume that this is the same MS as before (and hence show the same programs/data as contained in the first MS and not those on the 2nd MS).
Not too sure why it does this, but my solution when this happens (which thankfully is not often) is to either switch the phone off and on again, so that it detects the MS again, or, remove the MS completely, use something like SMan or file manager to detect the existing MS (which there will be none, and so the phone will know that it has been removed), and then insert the new MS I want to use and everything should be fine.
Anyone have any ideas why this would happen?

I have had the same thing twice. I replaced my 128 ms full of mp3 n mp4 files with my 32 ms application. All of my 128 ms could not be read. It's broken and I had to format it.
