Is there a version of 'graffiti' or 'transcriber' for symbian OS,
Its just that I noticed that you can choose how to input the writing in one of the options in a drop down menu?

Surely someone has done this??

The bundled handwriting software is a bit crap

edit.........

Hmmm The moto A920 uses transcriber instead of the cicjot crap... there is a way it seems..... still looking.....

Argh I cant find the A920 version of transcriber anywhere....

I'm sick of writing words letter by letter, and every thime I write a lower case L and then a SPACE I get a f**king T !! GRRR!

I don't think it is possible to change the handwriting app but I don't think its all that bad anyway.
To do an L fhen a space try drawing the L as a loop, as shown by the 2nd alternative in the "Handwriting Recognition" Help section. Useful thing if u actually bother to look at it.

I have looked at it.
Its still crap because I want to write sentances.
It defeats the purpose really as most people are faster at multi-tap.

I don't think it's objective is to be faster than texting with buttons, it's just good and is so good to show off with. Also I am faster with the handwriting than with multitap easily. T9 predictive text is probably quicker though

Heh, That t9 thing, I hate it

I suppose I was expecting it to be a little more pocket pc like in terms of recognition, the interesting this is though, It IS out there, in a UIQ form, for the A920 ! If you had to try it I'm sure you'd agree that its better.

I'm pretty sure you can change it too, else why would they have a primary input drop down list?

Argh who know... I live in hope...

I can tap out a message with the soft-keyboard about a billion times faster than using the P900's char recog.

While I'll admit that the char recog can be handy for making quick jots, like a word or two here and there, quick edits and such (albeit being character by character), it pretty much sucks ass at writing anything longer.

I hate trying to write "i" and "l". It just drives me nuts. Yeh, I try the alternatives, but it's hard to change a lifetime of habit, I'm used to writing how I write.

It'd be the best thing on Earth if you could change the recog engine, and I'd be your number one fan if you could find a way to do it, but sadly I fear the worst. My suspicion is that it's on the ROM, and thus unchangeable.

The input menu, from my experience, is there to switch languages.

I mean the menu that lists CICs JotPro.

Youre probably right though

No I dont have a link to transcriber, I just know that it works on the A920 and that is UIQ.

@ripkord

i do agree the handwriting is a pain to do, i have a hard time getting the letter 'i' all the time.

the virtual keyboard is not bad actually and i use a program call eZitap and it fills in words as you type, like T9 except T9 only works with flip closed.

check it out...
