O2 GPRS is only a http protacol, so it wont let you do that ! You HAVE to use dial-up, or the o2 internet apn (which is charged)....

If you're email client allows you to use proxies to get email, the 193.113.200.195 in the mail proxy and 8080 in the port should let you check o2 mail free. This works for me using Outlook express.

it'll still cost for gprs/dial up usage. You need money on your phone.

Also, whats the point in having a phone if you refuse to put money on it?

Trust me, it doesn't cost a penny on o2 if you use the proxy, GPRS web, wap and email are all free.
