Today was the last day for my O2 contract, so I rang up the O2 upgrade number (as displayed on their website - 08702 257879) to upgrade my current T610 to a K700.
The first girl I spoke to was useless, saying that the K700 was still undergoing hardware conformance tests, but the next guy I got said they were in stock and I could upgrade my T610.
My upgrade price was £60 - twice the £29.99 price to get a new contract online. However, I asked if my tariff would be changing (I have O2 Online 50 at £20pm and the current price is £22.50pm) and he said it would remain at £20pm. This means the price is effectively the same over a 1 year period:
£29.99 + 12 x £22.50pm = £299.99
£60 + 12 x £20pm = £300
Has anyone upgraded on a different tariff (i.e. one that hasn't gone up in price over the last year - Online 100, for instance) and paid a different initial charge for the phone?

I'm on 200MMS x-net tariff and originally the upgrade price was free, but I recieved a call back saying due to a "computer error" I'd have to pay £29.99 to reiceve the phone which will be accredited to my account "at a later date".

I've posted this before somewhere, but it seems better here...
I'm on the off peak 300 (£20) tariff, and I too had to pay £59.99 for the upgrade. I did get them to reduce my line rental to £15 for 6 months to offset the cost tho.
But it doesn't seem like they want to budge on the upgrade fee.

Well im on o2 and want to upgrade to k700 but only had contract for 6 months going to try anyway :-) 60 quid aint too bad. And would be good to keep current tarif. Might av to say a bit more tho as only had my t610 6 months.
