As you may know, VF have disabled the feature to assign mp3 ringtones. Apparently, due to copyright issues, mp3 ringtones will be available for download on VF Live from september. Also VF will be releasing newer software versions which will enable the feature to set mp3's as ringtones. So it means if you own a k700i now, you'll need the software upgraded in a while when the new version of software has been released to be able to assign mp3's as ringtones.

Whats the good news ?
As I read it this only means that you will be able to buy mp3 at vodafone live and assign those as ringtones. You will still not be able to assign your own mp3 ringtones free. The only news is that voda will then have some copyrighted mp3 ringtones available that you can buy and use. Which was the intention all along.
Am I wrong ?

vodafone are so annoying. i think maybe you should kick up a right fuss. what is the point in paying a lot of money for a phone that has a key feature disabled?

vodafone
...and i think everybody else will agree!

Well, my point was that obviously they will be releasing the k700i's with the feature enabled to assign your own mp3 ringtones free of charge. I think you'll find that all the networks are money grabbers, O2 customer services is 50p a minute!!!!!!!!! If we already own a k700i on vodafone the software will just need to upgraded. Vodafone has the best coverage where I live, whereas O2, orange and t-mobile are crap, cos i've been on them all. Its a shame that the feature is disabled at the mo, but if i can get it upgraded soon so it can do it then i'll have good coverage and my own mp3 ringtones! Until then music dj means I'll have a ringtone that no one else has got!
