I have what appears to be a bug in the message delivery report system - anyone else got it? If this has already been mentioned on this forum I apologise - I've done a search and it came back with over 2500 items on K700 delivery report, so I haven't time to search through them all to find if any are relevant!

If you go into Messaging - Settings - Text Message - Delivery Report, and turn the Delivery Report to 'on' you should then obviously get a delivery report back when you send your text message. However on the final screen before sending your message, the screen where it tells you who you are sending the message to, the phone shows 'Delivery Report Off' and when you send the text message you don't get a report back. I double-checked that the Delivery Report setting was still turned to 'on' in the Settings, and it was.

My phone is sim-free and I use it on Orange in the UK. I've never had any problems getting delivery reports back on my previous phones used on this network.

I've been using my K700 for a week+ now, no problems with the delivery receipts. I'm on M1 in Singapore.

My sim free K700 does not have this problem, I just checked it and everything is fine.

Carrie,

Delivery report is set to OFF when sending messages to more than one buddy.

Hi there

I'm only sending a text to one person in my phonebook, so I think it should work when it is switched on to do so?

The weird thing is that this problem seems to be occasional, i.e. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

But I'll try the reset - thanks for the suggestion.

Are you with the O2 network? If so then you have to put *0# at the start of every message that you want a delivery report for. Well that's been the case on me and my mates phones even though we have delivery reports turned on a menu.

If not with O2 then I'm not quite sure.

No I'm with Orange. But just simply switching the phone off and then back on again seems to have cleared the problem. Bit like a computer I guess! Do a restart and some problems clear.

That is really shit! I just got switched to O2 yesterday and right enough they don't support normal delivery reports. That really sucks. How hard can it be!?!
