recently I dropped my p800 (actually I left it on top of my car then drove off). now, when i try to open messages I get an error message and it closes down. Everythimg else appears to be working fine. I was planning on backing up my fone via pc suite, doing a master reset, then reloading my backup to see if that cured the problem. Unfortunately, for some reason, the 'backup and restore' ap is not giving me the option to back up my fone memory. I want to reinstall pc suite in the hope i will then be able to do this but when i do it is 'remembering' my fone that was previously connected. What extra files do i need to delete following the uninstallation to prevent the reinstalled software recognising my fone when it connects?

Depends I think on how you removed PC suite in the first place. As there is no uninstall option within the programme itself you would normally have to go to Add Remove Programmes via your pc control panel. Unnstall the programme from there, then look on the C drive for the Sony Ericsson folder and delete this manualy (as it normally gets left behind after the uninstall) then restart the pc and re-install.

yeah, i have tried deleting the se folder in 'program files' folder on c: drive, also the se folder in the 'applicartion data' folder in my documents but when i reinstall pc suite and try to do a backup, the pulldown fone menu ony contains a previously named fone which is not the one that the software believes is currently connected. this is such headache. How can i do a completely fresh install with no remnants of the previous installation being left behind??
