The service menu offers:
1-Information: hardware & software info
2-Service Tests: test screen, speakers etc
3-Service Function: formats the internal drive.
But why don't u just try it & u could easily find out urself!

Yeah, just as shame that 1 and 2 are really not that useful as you tend to know which bits of your phone dont work and you can find out the info in 1 else were.
But the best bit is that 3 "Service Function: formats the internal drive." would be a really useful thing does not actually work, just deletes user files but all the junk that you'd really like it to get rid of with a hard reset is still there. This is the same as, and with, the master reset. Drives me mad as the only real master reset at the moment is to reflash and guess what, I'm with Orange so can't!

From my experience Master Reset doesn't remove all the rubbish but Format Internal Disk does. It makes it fresh like a new phone.
Did u try it?

Yes I did try it, about 4 times and no it does not. Install qfileman (a proper file explorer) and have a look around after you've made your P900 just like new and notice all the junk that is still hanging about.
Even symbian acknowledge its a fault that they will address.
Both resets do NOT work.

Every SE phone should have a tiny hard reset button on the internal PCB board that could be accessed with a small pen. So when U push that button it goes back to complete factory defaults and erases all user info. This would be very useful in the event your phone does not even boot up.
