I love my p900, mostly because I finally get where all this technology is going, and I can't help think about what kind of device we can have in our hands in the future.

Phones that connect thru wifi, 3G and up, that connect with everything around it wirelessly, with mini computers, video cams, all forms of communication and media... and my question is what would you like to see on these things?...

I'd like
Sat nav
Voice activated os and software (ie you can just talk to the phone and it obeys!)
Vid cam that achieves high resolution and quality sound
Option to project screen into seethru lcd shades at higher res...
Enough memory to store and watch high res movies, store thousands of albums of music, etc etc

I'm sure most of these are in the pipeline, but I guess core issues of power and space... wonder if it'll ever be feasible to fit all of these things into one little handy phone type thing.

What would other people want on their uberfone?

granted its not as high tech as those above, but id like a good quality speaker so when your mp3 ringtone goes of on loud volume it doesnt sound distorted & tinny cos lets be honest, when your p900 rings loud it you can feel the whole phone vibrate!

No one wants any improvements then? Everyone happy with what they got?

I think one way in which the P900 can be improved is the screen quality. When i had mine, although the screen was nice, it was awful when i compared it to my two PDA screens.

I also would like:

Biometric fingerprinting, instead of having to input my PIN each time i switch the phone on.

GPS that comes with downloadable maps from the SE website.

A bigger heavier more adult sized stylus.

Twin 3G camera's, both capable of high quality 1.3mp+ images, and video chat using the 3G network

Free GPRS / 3G internet. Ive always been a believer that the internet should be free for everyone, on all devices.

Hmm personally I'd like to see a little more refining on the smaller things.

The Sylus - a larger or more ergonomic all in one unit. Preferably all metal, though could handle it being plastic if it felt strong too. Current one has oo much potential to break.

A keyflip mounted joystick - jogdial is nice, but flip closed games would be mean with a joystick, course its a little redundant but hey.

Camera light - so I don't have to keep the flip open and scrolling the joystick constantly to walk down the stairs at night and no waking everyone up by turning on lights

Landscape mode - inot sure if symbian supports a landscape UI but it'd be nifty to have the phone in a landscape mode

Writing box/bar - probably be annoying to some but I like the dedicated spot on palms for writing, you don't run the risk of tapping on things by mistake. if a box or small portion of the screen was sectoined off for recognition it'd be nifty. (could also have a few small keys like caps, shift, symbol)

Better accessory support - personally I don't want alot of gaming buttons on my SE smart phone, if i would I'd kill myself and buy a moto, but support for the gameboard would be nifty. (and intun, flash etc)

Built in radio and/or mp3 streaming through the same handsfree headset - biggest drawback of p9 + hpr20, no mp3 listening through the unit.

More theming ability - granted I have no idea if this is a drawback of uiq or not, but I like how a theme can be designed for say a t630 or 1010 and you're able to customise each screen. The P9 while nifty to theme for, really has to be stunning with effectively flip closed and flip open pictures only.

Thoughtful improvements - just a little more thinking, ie in the calander the lowest amount you can repeat something by is a day, I'd love to see this setable to minutes/hours so that something could easily be repeated in a day. Flip Closed contact entering also comes to mind.

Hardare wise, duo pro, more ram, possibly a better processor. Wifi, meh not really worried here but could be nice. 3G as well nifty, but not available until mid next year here.

When it comes to the P9 I'd hate to see more features that turn it into a mini laptop rather than improvements that make it into a smartPHONE, since after all it is still a phone. Guess most of my wants are software.
