Hi all. Im going to master reset cos my damm p800 is really screwed. But im worried about my contacts. I know that i cant copy from phone to sim, so if i master reset where are the contacts kept, are they deleted? If they are in a backup .zip whats the filename. Many thanks in advance.

Cant you synchronize your contacts with your pc and after the master rest synchronize them again? Or do a backup before the master reset.

You can copy them to SIM but not all at once. One by one, I'm afraid. I guess if you have a lot of contacts that doesn't seem such a good idea. But than again you only have to do it once and only the contacts that aren't on the SIM already. If you don't synchronize with your computer I see that as the best option.

U can try this
Quote:
This method explains how to COPY CONTACTS.CDB andSMS messages ( and theirSettings), Emails ( and theirSettings) calendar, jotter,(MOST OF YOUR DATA) andturn them back after youformat your P800...

also how to delete FONTS onDrive C:

well, the procedure is a bit long,

but here we go:

1. First of all, MAK A FULLBACK UP, in CASE YOUFAILED to FOLLOW EXACTLYTHE INSTUCTIONS BELOW.and REstart your P800.

2. Start the program PC FILEMANAGER ( u can use a freeevaluation copy - download frommy-sybmian)

3. again START making a new backup, BUT When you seethe P800 saying "backup inProgress" and you see theP800 ICON in your Windowssystem TRAY Cancel the Backup . BUT DONT STARTTHE PHONE, LEAVE IT ONTHE CRADE AS IT IS.

4. Doing so allows you to USEthe PC File manager to controlthe P800 and be able to copywhat ever u need.

Copy as you wish to the MSDUO CARD or the PC , i copiedthese
- for contacts, i copied:c:\system\data\contacts\contacts.cdb
- for calendar:C:\Documents\Agenda\Agenda
- for SMS, Copy all Folders andfiles under C:\System\Mail\
- I Copied also the wholedirectory C:\Documents (so thati copy it back as it is when iformat - this is important also ifu have data)
- If there are other application onyour C that has Data, copy it,and make sure u record andrevise all applications in yourp800 in case there are data or

so not mentioned above. Forexample "Handy Safe" data ( ucan synch. if u dont want tobackup) ... etc.

** by the way, you can use aprevious backup with ecsextenstion and convert it to .zip, then extract the files above andewhatever u need.

5. NOW the BIG STEP: formatcompletely the internal part ofyour P800. which like this:
Jog up -> * -> Jog down -> Jogdown -> * Jog down -> *

6. Format the intenal Memoryso that u will get your P800 asEXACTLY you bought it.

7. Restart the phone, Cool ascame from Factory

8. Repeat steps 3 and 4, butcopy the files in point 4. fromthe memory stick/ or your PC tothe internal memory. THATS IT,YOU RESTORED CONTACTs,SMS, Calendar, and all

your data.

ATTENTION: you will loosesome Setting or configurationswhich i beleieve are minorthings make sure to record allbefore

u do all above.

OLA, IF YOU DONT LIKE THERESULT, SIMPLY RESTORETHE MAIN BACKUP in Step 1
