Does anyone have any experience of having there Orange branded SE phone; the T610 perhaps, upgraded to a newer firmware version that that which they purchased it with?

I (and others) am interested to see if it is just a simple as an unbranded version, as I will be taking my K700 in when the bugs are fixed.

Thanks in advance.

From what I gather, Orange customise new versions of software, and then release it a bit later. The CarphoneWarehouse and other service centres will flash your Orange phone with the new Orange software...

I don't think flashing deletes your contacts or your pictures, etc...

Although some people recommend a master-reset before the flash, but I don't know why - anyone want to comment?

Take it to an indpendent dealer who will flash it wilth Standard software. The one in Eltham, SE London did my P800 and it removed all Orange branding.

It will delete all settings, user details tho back to the standard ones so you will loose everything

Not so bothered about losing settings and stuff as they are easy to back up.

I had my O2 T610 & T69 both done at the CPW but just wondered about Orange phones from the Orange Shop....

Sounds like it may well be the same!!

But you get to keep the Orange branding...yeah!!! NOT!!!!
