I can't seem to get my computer to realize that i have connected my p800 to the syncstation, which is connected to the computer.

I bought my p800 second-hand and i didn't get the cd when i bought it. And when I install the drivers for the dss-20 i get both the usb serial port driver and the semc dss-20 driver from the DSS-20.zip which i downloaded from sonyericsson.com.

When I connect my p800 to my pc via syncstation the phone monitor does not seem to care. I get the green light from the syncstation, but other than that nothing happens. The phonemonitor icon in the system tray does not display the "connecting-animation" until i REMOVE my p800 from the syncstation, but of course with my phone removed from the station it never gets connectED it is just connectING for ever...

What do i do to get the p800 connected to the computer, and the other way around?

I run XP Pro, Zone Alarm and Avast Antivirus. I've tried to use pcsuite 2.4.1 and 2.1.1...

Hi,

had the same problem with my P800. I just cleaned the connection on the phone to get it working. Just turn off the phone and use a needle or similar to clean the copperplates.

I had the same problem with my P800 & windows 98. I fixed it like this. Go to my computer, right click on it, open properties, open Device manager. Look for the sync-station (under ports), right click on it then open properties. cilck on driver at the top and then click on Reinstall driver at the bottom. Select loction as CD Rom, put pc suite in the draw and click ok. Also make sure you have ONLY ticked the USB box in the sync-Station properties.

I cleaned the copperplates under the phone for about 30mins now, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

like I said, I bought my p800 second-hand(It had been used before) and I did not get the CD when I bought it.
