I just tried Magic Word with the Mp3 player on my newly upgraded T68 with MMS software and now it works great. Before the MMS upgrade it didn't work.

Does anyone have any experience in how big impact the MagicWord feature has on standby-time?

It reduces the standby time to between a quarter and a third of what it would have been without the "magic word" feature activated.

Plus you might find the phone keeps beeping as it *thinks* it just heard the magic word. Occasionally, the phone will even dial out (depending on if you have set up any voice tags for your contacts).

I found this happened most often in noisy environments (like in a car), so turned the feature off.

@orang3

Ok.. maybe it was just me that did something wrong when I didn't have the MMS-software. I didn't get it to work with my mp3 player back then. The phone didn't recognise the mp3-player as a "portable handsfree", and didn't change the profile with the old software (at least not on my phone). But with the new MMS-software it does chnage profile to "portavle handsfree" when I plug it in.

@Jimbo
Hmm.. so it reduces the standby-time that much. Well that is a bit much. If I use the MP3 player and the Magic Word feature it would probably drain my battery very quick

So I think I will not use it then.
