Here my queries

a) Is there a way to find the contact with more than one letter?
b) SMS chat feature?
c) Has anyone been able to use 'My Friends' feature? I cant find this option anywhere in the phone. it is definatly not in the messaging option in my phone.

a) No, I've looked for that too.
b) Haven't found that eigther so I would say no there as well.
c) Unless your phone is "Branded" the feature is in the messaging option. 3rd one down from the top.

I got the "My Friends" option in my phone.

Maybe its dependent on the operator you got?

I must say that I am disappointed from this phone. i switched from t610 to k700 and it does not contain the two features that I used the most. Okay, I might be able to live without the SMS chat feature but removing the contact find feature is criminal on SE part. Especially when I have more than 480 contacts and there are more than 110 contacts starting from the letter 'S'. Imagine how much scrolling I have to do if I have to dial the 50th contact starting from 'S' I am so annoyed at them.

I like rest of the upgrades but I am getting this strong feeling that SE is slowly turning into Nokia.

They might end up selling more sets by doing this but the reason I have been buying Ericsson and then SE was simply because it always had very strong 'serious function' and I am afraid this is not the case now

I still have the following phones with me
337 - 688 - 868 - t18 - R320 - t28 - R520 - T68 - T610 - K700 and my next phone will be motorola V600

Going back to the topic... If the operators have removed the My Friends function from the K700, don't they have to advertise this fact when they sell it?

Surely if they sell a SONY ERICSSON phone, it should be to the manufacturer's specification unless clearly stated before sale?

If O2 have removed anything from my phone when I (finally) receive it, then it will be going back for one with the full specification.

Yes the phone should be as per the specifications. My phone is not a 'operator branded phone'. I bought it from the SE dealers directly. the manaul says that the phone has 'My Friends' on page 50 & 51 but my phone actually do not have that option.

'This is cheating by SE'
