I'm really considering getting the K700.

Before I decide to change network for good from Vodafone because of their money grabbing scheme.

Is/will there be anyway of unblocking vodas 'no personal mp3 ringtones' by software upgrade or another means?

Also does anybody know how they have done this when you can use thier paid ones?

Yep, I've done quite a lot of research on this phone but both of my questions haven't really been answered what I can see.

Apparently in future firmware updates Vodaphone will allow you to use MP3 ringtones..

.. as long as you buy them from their LIVE service only.

I wonder what they do to them for them to work?
Encryption???

If it's also only done by wap surely if I add some to my website and download them they maybe a counted for.
