I'm going to Hong Kong in a week or so, and plan on getting either a T630 or K700 there.

Just wondering if anyways knows if the firmware would be all updated in the shipments sent out now (Like do they update the FW in the new T630 models compared to like 6 months ago)? I want all/most of the glitches ironed out, and don't really want to find myself a service center.

And on that note, are the glitches in either model that bad without the latest updates? I might not mind some small problems (maybe some little error with the calender, etc.), but I certainly don't want something like the phone freezing up every once in a while.

Not neccessarily. When the phone gets manufactured it get a firmware. Now that might not be the latest already. Then it gets packaged and shipped. Between manufacturing and actual sale a couple of weeks can go by. The only way to know for sure is to ask the seller to put the latest FW on if possible. Or check it and compare with the latest and if not latest send it in for update.

When buying phones from authorized dealers, you don't have to worry about not getting the latest firmware. You can always have them updated for free from a service point.

Phones bought somewhere else would have to pay extra for it.
