Hey everyone. IM have issues with my account with Cingular. I have a SE T616 camera phone and i luv it. i hate my prepaid account with cingular, they are just messed up. They have their rates all mixed up and im sick of it. I want to know who has like the best rates for here in the USA for prepaid. i called verizon wireless and i wanted their prepaid plan because i had it before and i liked it. The only problem was that i couldnt unlock my phone because they couldnt do it. what can i do to unlock this phone so it will work with other companies? i hate this prepaid service. please help. give suggestions for best prepaid service also.

Cingular should be able to unlock it for you. I know that T-Mobile will unlock your phone for you if you bought it from them and have had it for more than 90 days. But I don't know about Cingular. IMO, you should go with T-Mobile because you can use their service all around the country. But that's a biased opinion cause T-Mobile is the only service provider that I know a lot about.

You are SOL. The T616 is specific for the ATT/Cingular GSM provider and uses the 850/1800/1900 band. Even if you are able to get it unlocked your only other choice is T-Mobile, but they use the 900/1800/1900 band. So your coverage would dramatically decrease, because cingular uses the 850band heavily. Verizon and Sprint use a CDMA network. So you either have to stay with cingular or look for a new provider and a new phone.
