2 days ago I bought an Official battery as a spare for my 4 week old p900. I also bought a dual desktop charger. I put the new battery into my p900 this morning after charging it up for the usual recommended time period and also put my other p900 (the one that came with the phone when new) battery on charge. It showed 100% full after I put the battery into the phone. I made 1 phonecall and the power was down to 50%. About 2 hours later the battery low alarm sounded and the phone turned off. I then changed the battery for the one that origonally came with the phone as the charger indactor was showing the battery being fully charged. I turned my phone back on and the fully charged battery was at 1% and then the phone turned off. I switched it back on and the power bar then showed full and status shows 99% power.

The numbers on the back of the battery that came with the p900 are:-

Standard Battery BST-15
Li-Polymer 3.6v Type 3000054
BKB 193 148/1R1C 1260 mAh
S/N 003656 SR 11 HA 04W15

And the numbers on the back of the new battery are:-

Standard Battery BST-15
Li-Polymer 3.6V Type 3000054
BKB 193 148/1R1A 1000mAh
S/N 010957 SHHL HA 02W46

I have taken the batteries and phone back to where I bought them from (my local carphone warehouse store) and they said that they will have to order me a new phone as they cannot just replace a battery and I would be without my phone for 8 weeks.

I dont want to have the phone replaced as I have put a lot of things on it and also have put a SymMobile screen protector on. I also use it as my diary which has really come in handy as I lost my other diary.

I was thinking its a battery problem but not sure now its happened on both batteries.

Any help would be grateful as I dont want to be without my phone for so long

Edit 13/7/04 :- now even more problems happening. check page 2

the new battery you got was actually a p800 battery

also dont use charging equipment not approved by SE i know many people have faultless operations with them but they put the phone at risk pay a couple quid more and get and SE branded one.

The new batteies a p800 one ? it said p900 on the box.
So its not the phone then for certain ?
If its not the phone I can go back and have a good rant at the CPW prat who sold me the new battery
Would this have affected the origonal battery as well cos I put it in half an hour ago, taken 10 pictures and the power indactor shows 93% already ?

P900 shipps with batteries having 1260 amh ratting P800 batteries have 1000amh rated batteries although they are both the same one has slightly higher capacity.

Your battery going to 93 percent sounds normal.

Work the battery.

why not take it to CPW and demand they change it for a standard issue P900 battery?

Apparently that is the battery they list for the P900. They will only exchange for a new phone.

The common dominator is your dual battery charger you bought. Your original battery was fine. You charged your new one with the charger. It drained quickly. Then you chargerd your original one with the charger. Then that one drained quickly. Assuming everything was good before you got the new equipment I suspect the dual battery charger you bought. Is it original SE equipment? If not, there is your possible cause. If yes, I would exchange the new bat and charger.
