Hi,
I have the Chinese version of the K700i. The one with only chinese or english as languages. Can anyone tell me is the warranty valid in Europe for this phone or only in China? Also is there any way I can update the software to European Spec through a data cable or anything? By the way the K700i is a great phone

As it mentions in the manual (you can download an english one if you only have a chinese one), Sony Ericsson provide warranty within the country or region of purchase. For the purpose of region this means EU only

so your warranty is only valid in china

Although most western European service centres will service out-of-region handsets for free, as a courtesy, within the 1 year, Chinese firmware upgrade is among the few exceptions. Also they never change firmware on Chinese handsets to a non-chinese version.

There will probably be ways to change the firmware by 3rd party vendors a few months from now, but that voids your warranty.

Thanks for the replies guys. Is it possible though for a SE service point to update any firmware upgrades to the one that my phone uses or will they only update firmware on European phones and if they do update it will I have to pay for it.
