Hey guys

My contract is up and coming to an end. Its an awkward time of the year as I have no idea what phone to get.

Ive heard that orange are starting their 3G network and the Z1010 will be on this. IS this true, as anyone heard different? My second option is to get a K700 which I hear has a technical cut down difference from the Z1010? My third option is to wait for the S700, but I cant find any hard evidence that the phone will be available before the start of the new year?

Can anyone help me out?

Craig to the B!

I think the S700 will be well worth waiting for.

Or you could wait for the successor to the P900..

Right now, i have a K700, i intend to buy the S700 and possibly the P1000 (whatever it will be called).

I dont see any point in buying a Z1010 unless you intend to use expensive 3G services such as video call and high speed streaming. Orange 3G will be VERY expensive.

The K700 is pretty much the same phone as the Z1010, minus the 3G and Duo slot.

i bought my first MMS phone (P900) a year after MMS was released (dec 2003) as i thought the first MMS phones sucked, i have a feeling that video messaging will take the same path.

I've seen a Samsung Z105 (one of the VF 3G launch handsets) and i think it sucks. I've seen video of a Z1010 in action and it looks like fun but to be honest, a video messaging phone's gonna be useless for a while anyway as most people aren't gonna have one....

the reasons for this are that VF are launching 3G this summer but won't be pushing it with advertising until later on in the year...so most people won't be aware they're around, let alone wanting to shell out the hardearned to get themselves one....so personally i'm waiting for an S700 unless something else is announced that takes my fancy.

I would wait for S700, but that is a matter of taste, just now I'm using the K700i, but I'm definitely upgrading if the S700 feels OK. I always buy my phones without contract. That gives me more freedom to upgrade when I want.

I first though to buy the s700, but then I saw u could buy a z1010 for 380€ with all contractcosts included in that price + free 3G/GPRS until 31/12 and changed my mind
After the free gprs is gone I can buy an other phone, cos I will have money from x-mas

Its 240€+ 18 months 7,50€=387€
Edit: Opps some calculate misses when converting to €, so it should be 387 not 380.

And no, its Tele2comviq.
3 are expensive on the z1010, the total is 650€ there but u get free minutes also...

Why not just buy all three? As it is, I already have a K700i. Dont think I will bother with the Z1010 (as apparently it runs similar software to the K700, so cant see the point), but I do intend to get an S700 when it comes out!
