I don't have a Z200 but the online spec says it supports IR. I have used IR on other SE phones and they work very well. The most popular IR adapters are BAFO BF120 (which I use on various PC's with Win98/2000/XP) and the Mobile Action MA-620 . Many notebook computers are also equipped with IR built-in. My SE phones also work with them.
For software, you can use Float's Mobile Agent, but you don't really need any since Windows already supports IR file transfers. Right click on the file and "send to IR".

we got a bunch of Z200's for our office and datacable does not work. we have been trying IR and it does not work yet. trying to figure out ways, or it may be the lack of firmware support.

Indeed people are reporting problems with IR on the Z200, but were able to transfer stuff between phones. I found it out just now.
