I hope never will replace iMelody with polymorphic ringtones.
why? Cause iMelody sounds good enough it's a easy format to hand edit it handles fairly long tunes and you can insert effects in very cool ways so it's not just sound it also controls feel/looks (lights/vibrations)
ie. greater control cooler looks.
If ever gonna add support for polymorphic ringsignals I do hope they gonna keep the support for iMelody's also.
Only thing I wish regarding sound is that they add support to choose your own iMelody for SMS allerts.

polyPHONIC not polymorphic...

It plays many tunes at the same time, but does not have many shapes at the same time

By the way I don't agree with you, polyphonic speaker will play also iMelodies, plus you will be able to get music, voices etc. As a ringtone.
The volume can be very high indeed.

I had a Panasonic once, and that is the only feature I still miss... It was really cool believe me

The drawback with Polyphonic ringtones could be that some ringtones could be very annyoing.
