Not suggesting anything!! but i recently lost my phone on holiday - on my return i obviously made a claim from o2, and was sent a brand new UNBRANDED P900 the next day, well worth the £25 excess.

Stuck in the backwater of R3A06 here too..
This is the latest reply from O2 Business Care I've had:
>>Thank you for your enquiry.
I would like to apologies for the inconvenience caused to you in this matter.
Unfortunately we do not have any dates on when this will be available but ca advise you will be in the near future.
I'm trying to escalate this at the moment - without much sucess...

I still don't see why SE wont let us upgrade when we have had our phones officially unbranded by an authorised service centre.
It is ludicrous that they are allowed to manipulate us in this way, for no good reason to either them or us.

Yep, mines was unbranded by Total Repair next to the airport.
Update service now won't let me update to the latest level.
They now do an IMEI check so can tell it was originally an O2 handset.
It stinks, I don't agree with it at all. Totally defeats the object of the update service.
If I took it back to TRS for an upgrade, what would they do? Give me R5B02, or the latest O2 firmware????

Who knows, ring them and ask...
How much did they charge you to upgrade the firmware?
