I've taken a fewpics which are saved into the camera pictures folder in the PICTURES folder. I went to rename but there is no rename option. I sent the pic to the PICTURES folder which then I can rename but I cannot send it back to camera pictures.

Ne1 know how to get round this.

you can't rename the picture while its in the cameras picture folder. you have to move it to the main picture folder and then you can rename it

Yeah but he already knows that as said in his post & also that u cannot put it back in the CamPics folder.

It seems a very strange thing not to include to me, what's the point?

yeah I was just more or less confirming that he wasn't confused in any way and hadn't missed anything

I think the point of not renaming in the camera folder is probably so that you don't rename a picture to a name later in the sequence that the phone is using for pictures. But if thats the case its easy to deal with a duplicate name but simply incrementing the counter another time. I can't think of any other reason why they would disallow it

Is it just me that finds the naming convention for photos/movies useless? It would be so much better if photos were automatically named after the date/time eg. 130704_1718.jpg

Most phones do this!!!

You can tell the K700 to call your pictures whatever you want.

Go to the camera, press More, scroll down to the bottom and rename the 'default name'.

Well i dont own a k7 but it seems that the cam folder is'nt made for storing ur pics, more like a temp folder, the point of this could prolly only be explained by SE themselves :-l Saying that, its not a big problem is it. This message was posted from a T610

Yes but that doesn't offer any way of dating the pics as EAJ wanted unless u set the name for each date u are on when u take the pics.
Hmm & that's not worth the hassle.

It's not really a temporary folder & it looks cool in your pictures area as the folder has a camera pic on it while all folders u create are just plain.
It's not a major problem I suppose but there's no reason that u shouldn't be able to rename them in that folder.
